Advice over winter vomiting bug 28/9/11
Islanders are being advised to take precautions to help prevent them catching or spreading the winter vomiting bug.
Visitors to hospitals in the Western Isles are specifically being asked to wash their hands with soap and water before and after visiting, and to avoid visiting for 48 hours after the last symptoms.
The bug usually disappears after a day or two though people can remain contagious for nearly a week.
