Two singers from Lewis have won the Traditional Gold medal at the Royal National
Mod.
Joan Morrison whose family stays in Point only entered this year after being cajoled
by friends following earlier unsuccessful attempts at the prestigious competition.
For two years running, the men’s award has gone to Breasclete. Calum Angus Macdonald
was raised in the village until he left as a teenager to work on the mainland. In
2012, it was won by Alex Macdonald.
