£19k pa during training (with potential for £29k to £34k upon successful completion,
plus standby payments and company car)
Scotia Gas Networks (SGN) is the UK’s second largest gas distribution company, operating
regional gas distribution networks across Scotland and Southern England. This exciting
and unique opportunity has arisen within Scotland Gas Networks, to strengthen our
local operational management teams in Stornoway and Caithness. This post would suit

within one of the UK’s leading gas transportation companies.
As a Technical Management Trainee, you will gain experience through a 2 year bespoke
training programme focusing on gas engineering and management skills. The training
will be primarily on the job but will also involve training courses and work based
projects.
At the end of your training and development programme you take on the role of Team
Managers in the respective areas, managing all aspects of local operations, including
delivery forecasting, LPG/LNG tanker offloading, LPG/LNG storage/vaporisation, gas
distribution activities, and emergency and meter work activities. You will also start
to participate in a high frequency emergency standby rota.
A degree in a formal Engineering discipline is essential (although an appropriate
science degree may also be considered). You will be expected over time to register
with the Engineering Council at either IEng or C Eng grade. Experience in an engineering
role would be beneficial.
