Open house at Sustainable Uist project 15/9/11
Sustainable Uist is opening up its two ‘Hard to Treat’ housing pilot projects at Kildonan and Daliburgh for visitors this weekend.
The two houses -
As well as being able to see very different insulation systems in place in older Uist houses, visitors will be able to watch live external wall insulation and secondary glazing demonstrations, and speak to a range of experts on hand, including the local builders who carried out the work.
Visitors will also be able to find out information about the UK Government’s Green Deal initiative which is due to start in 2012 and is being brought in to help householders across the UK fund energy efficiency measures in their homes.
