People are needed to try and refloat a large rare Sei whale which beached on South Uist today.
The 12 metre long mammal is still alive and if enough people turn up at the beach at Qinetiq Range at Geirinish.
It is hoped the whale will get back to sea on the rising tide late tonight.
It was discovered on the sands at lunchtime today.
