Stornoway ferry cancelled 2/7/12
All Tuesday’s sailings of the Stornoway ferry have been cancelled.
The MV Isle of Lewis suffered mechanical problems in the middle of the Minch, believed to be related to one of her twin engines. Fortunately for passengers she was well on passage thus avoiding people being stranded on the mainland and she docked about 90 minutes behind schedule.
However, getting spare parts or engineers to the island will take longer compared to Ullapool.
Cal Mac says passengers should contact its Stornoway port office from 6am to make alternative travel arrangements.
