Severe southwesterly gale forecast 29/12/12
A severe southwesterly gale is expected in the Western Isles on Sunday will winds
rising from Saturday evening.
It will bring heavy rain showers and rough seas with winds gusting to Force 10 in
places.
As the Atlantic low passes over the Hebrides, winds will ease for a period in the
early hours but start to increase again before dawn.
A gale will affect the islands throughout Sunday with wind speeds gusting at Force
11 at times in Uist and Barra.
A lull is forecast overnight Monday but Monday afternoon is expected to be blustery,
more so in the Southern Isles.
