Re: Same sex B&Bs                    2/8/11

Sirs,

As many of your readers may know, discrimination against gay people in the delivery of public and commercial services has been unlawful since 2007.

In relation to B&Bs, the days of ‘No dogs, no blacks, no Irish’ signs have thankfully long gone. It’s unfortunate that some people wish to put up ‘No gays’ signs in their place.

It may interest some of your readers to know that Stonewall Scotland have a variety of materials available to help tackle homophobia within communities, such as our eye catching, to the point, ‘Some people are gay. Get over it!’ posters (now also available in Gaelic).

These can be ordered free by emailing info@stonewallscotland.org.uk.

Director,
