 Harvest & Processing Staff

September to December 2014

£16,631 (£8.00 per hour)

 

We are looking for additional full-time staff for both our Harvest operation at Arnish Point, Stornoway and our Processing Team at Marybank, Stornoway to service increased volumes through the production plant to the end of this year. Duties will involve working in various areas as required, including harvesting, gutting, filleting and production support.  Previous experience in a fresh product environment is preferred, but not essential as training will be given.

 

The Scottish Salmon Company delivers a consistently high quality product to the global market. As well as fresh whole gutted fish, ice packed, we also supply outstanding skinless and pinboned fillet to high-end customers with rigorous requirements. Reaching and maintaining challenging standards and guaranteeing our product’s quality and freshness relies on robust teamwork and good communication throughout.  This means that all of our staff must be flexible in their roles and, on occasion, work beyond their normal working hours to fulfil production requirements

 

Processing staff shifts are Monday to Friday, from 6am to 3pm or from 3pm to 12am (including 1 hour for breaks). Harvest Team normal working hours can vary to meet the harvest plan requirements though normal start times are currently 5am Monday - Friday mornings.

 

In addition to salary, Unsocial Hours Payment of £15 per night is payable for hours worked between 10pm and 6am.

 

Applicants should be aware that due to the nature of the business, some extended shifts and Saturday work may be required to meet production targets.

 

Successful applicants will be able to meet the physical demands of the role, hardworking and co-operative in their attitude. As well as having a sound understanding of the prime importance of food hygiene, applicants must be good timekeepers and team-players.
