Island oil workers evacuated from rig    8/2/13

A number of island oil workers were evacuated from a North Sea oil rig after after a power cut.

The men were airlifted off the Talisman-owned Claymore platform without their belongings.

They spent the night on either the Piper, Tartan and Saltire platforms, also operated by Talisman, before returning. Some were flown to Aberdeen on Wednesday.

Talisman said 76 staff were taken on as a precaution. It said the Claymore was being brought back up to full power.
