Relief ferry      27/1/13

The MV Hebrides takes over the Stornoway to Ullapool sailings while the MV Isle of Lewis is in Leith for a refit and annual surveys.

The Hebrides is acting as the relief ferry on the Cal Mac network this winter.

In her absence, the new Islay boat,  MV Finlaggan, is operating on the Skye, Lochmaddy, Tarbert triangle route, though there is some local dissatisfaction at the number of sailings cancelled so far.

Cal Mac say, aside from initial technical problems when the Finglaggan first took up the route, disrupted sailings were caused by bad weather - which would also have affected the Hebrides.
