Reformed Presbyterian Church induction 26/10/11
By Bill Lucas
Representatives of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Scotland (RP) from the mainland are travelling to Stornoway for the induction of the Rev David Karoon as the new minister of the Stornoway RP congregation.
The induction will be conducted by the Rev Kenneth Stewart of Glasgow RP Church, assisted by the Rev Andrew Quigley of Airdrie, who is Presbytery Clerk.
Three elders and three deacons will also be inducted.
The service takes place in Stornoway Town Hall this Saturday at 10am.
There will be a buffet reception afterwards in the County Hotel. About 40 people from mainland RP churches are attending.
The Stornoway RP fellowship started in July and was constituted as a congregation on September 24 at the Coulregrain Mission House where they meet for worship.
David Karoon, who comes from Singapore, was minister at Arran Free Church for seven years.
