Lewis man must pay victim £400 compensation   3/9/11

Mark Macsween of 56 Macaulay Road, Stornoway, has ordered to pay £400 compensation to a police officer he assaulted.

At Stornoway Sheriff Court, the 26-year-old was also placed under a community payback order and must undertake 150 hours of unpaid community work.

He was also ordered to obey a curfew which confiens him indoors between 10pm and 5am for the next six months.

Macsween previously pleaded guilty to assaulting a female police constable by kicking the door of a police vehicle which injured her when it slammed into her stomach.

He also admitted assaulting a male  special constable at the Western Isles Hospital and injuring him by struggling violently and head butting him.

On a third charge he accepted he acted in a threatening and abusive manner in Cromwell Street, Stornoway, and at the town’s hospital.

All the offences took place on 16th July.
