Technical fault disrupts flight         2/8/11

Yesterday morning’s Benbecula to Stornoway and Inverness flights were cancelled because of a faulty part.

The Loganair pilot abort the round trip just as the plane was taxiing to the runway at Inverness for the 7.50am outward journey.

Twelve of the delayed passengers opted to wait for a broken temperature senor to be replaced. The plane eventually took off at 11.15am but stopped at Stornoway and did not fly the Benbecula leg of its schedule.

Disrupted passengers waiting at Balivanich airport were sent by ferry to Stornoway.
