NHS 24 establishes island base 10/7/11
Islanders calling NHS24 can now be put through to a nurse based locally after the service established a base in the Western Isles Hospital, Stornoway.
John Turner, Chief Executive of NHS 24, said: “Patient safety is always our first priority and this commitment will allow people to speak to a nurse based in the Western Isles wherever possible.”
NHS 24 is the out of hours healthcare information service which also serves patients needing urgent clinical advice when their GP surgery is closed.
