A memorial service for Liam Aitchison, conducted by Fr Roddy Johnston, will be held at the Our Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, Scotland Street, Stornoway, at 1pm next Tuesday, 20th December.
This simple but reverent 'Service of the Word' will include items of sung praise, Scripture readings, prayers, and some appropriate remarks about Liam himself, with participation by adherents of other Christian traditions on Lewis.
All who knew Liam during his months on Lewis and are affected by his death are warmly invited.
Local friends say its a particularly “welcome opportunity for those not in a position to travel to South Uist, once his Funeral Mass can finally be held.
'We are grateful to Liam's grieving family for approving this opportunity for his Lewis friends to assemble, to give thanks for his life, and most of all to worship God together and as a united, appalled community.”
