Two in second court appearance over teenager’s death  20/12/11

Two Lewis youths accused of murdering a teenager in Stornoway made a second appearance in court today.

Jonathan Alexander Mackinnon, 21 of Stornoway and Stefan Norquay Macleod Millar of Carloway, 20, both appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Neither made any plea or declaration. Both have been remanded in custody and were fully committed for trial.

They are accused over  the death of 16-year-old Liam Aitchison of Lochboisdale, South Uist.

Liam’s body was discovered in a disused house, formerly a RAF property, at the back of Steinish on the outskirts of Stornoway at the beginning of this month, some seven days after he was last seen around the town’s Manor Park area.

A memorial service was held for Liam in Stornoway this afternoon.
