Top energy company links up with Lews Castle College   2/12/11

Four Senior Managers from Schlumberger - one of the world's largest Energy Services Companies - visited Lews Castle College recently to help build relations between the two organisations. During the visit the company shared information on its current activities and plans to interested students and graduates. The managers also interviewed a number of candidates from the college for employment opportunities within the company.

Schlumberger operates in over 80 countries, employs more than 110,000 staff and has links to over 300 colleges and universities throughout the world including Lews Castle College. They also recruit around 5000 technical trainees each year with HN and degree qualifications in Engineering.

Schlumberger's Testing Services Operations Manager- North Sea - Mr Bengt Arne Nilssen said after the visit to Lews Castle  "It is important to Schlumberger to build relations with good technical institutions such as Lews Castle College. We were very pleased with the interest shown in our company as well as the high quality of the presentations from the college candidates which were both professional and informative in regards to their skill sets and experience."

College Principal David Green added "The link with Schlumberger offers tremendous opportunities for our students and graduates at a time of high youth unemployment. We aim to develop the link in a way which maximises the benefit for the company, our students and our community."
