Large wildfire burns moorland 27/2/13
Around 50 acres of heather and moorland was destroyed by an out of control wildfire
at Ranish on Lewis on Tuesday night.
Three fire crews - from Stornoway and Shawbost - fought to prevent the flames from
spreading further along the hill in North Lochs.
The call came in just before 8pm and beaters were deployed to swat pockets of fire
flaring up amongst the heather along the advancing blaze.
