Traffic diversions for Lewis Carnival 5/8/11
The Lewis Carnival taking place tomorrow (Saturday) will mean traffic disruptions for a period.
South Beach Car Park will be closed from 6pm tonight 6pm on Saturday.
For safety reasons, South Beach Street will also be closed to all traffic from 2pm
until approximately 5pm tomorrow -
Kenneth Street and the bus station will still be accessible from the direction of the Shell Street roundabout.
All traffic, including buses, wishing to access these areas is advised to divert this way during the period of the road closure.
The use of Willowglen Road from 1.30 to 2pm is also to be discouraged, as the carnival floats will be lining up there for registration and inspection.
Traffic delays are to be expected from 2pm until 3pm, as the procession makes its way from the Cabarfeidh Hotel to South Beach Street.
