Final game of Lewis Camanachd’s debut season        26/7/11

This Saturday 27th August, Boleskine Camanachd’s Smith Park at Inverarnie is the place to be as the cameras of BBC Alba will be in attendance to film the final game of Camanachd Leòdhais’ first season in the national shinty leagues.

The club are still awaiting word as to whether the Camanachd Association Board will give them permission to continue in the league on a permanent basis but with the club having fulfilled all their fixtures and every team the league having visited, the club look to have a strong case both off and on the park.

In their penultimate fixture, Lewis were unlucky to not take something from their away game against Lochbroom on Saturday 20th August. Ewan “Homer” MacFadyen capitalised on Conor MacDonald leaving his goal to get an easy finish to put Broom ahead on 36 minutes.

Neil Brown scored a scrappy goal as the second half started to increase the mainland side’s advantage. Lewis were on top for most of the game but a Paul Duke volley from a Donald Lamont corner with quarter of an hour left was all they had to show for their endeavours

Boleskine V Lewis will throw up at 1pm at the Loch Ness Side club’s park at Inverarnie and the referee is Innes Wood.
