Fishing boat was taking on water       29/8/11

The island prawn trawler the Brighter Morn reported taking on water off Stornoway in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The Stornoway RNLI lifeboat was launched and escorted her safely into port

Later that day, an ill 60-year-old cruise liner passenger was transferred from the 17,600 tonne MV Ocean Countess to hospital in Stornoway, after the vessel arrived from the Faroes.

The male patient was taken off the vessel anchored off Arnish and landed by a small boat to an ambulance.
