Fire crews called out                 3/2/13

Bayhead fire crew was called to a blaze in a garden shed in Knockintorran, North Uist, this morning. The shed was destroyed by flames. The alarm was raised at 11.30am.

Meanwhile, the Stornoway to Lochs road was closed while the emergency services deal with a road accident outside Stornoway on Thursday. A car went off the road by Creed near the Arnish junction. The casualty managed to get out of the vehicle. No other vehicle was involved.

A house in Barvas was damaged after a fire caught hold by a cupboard and staircase early on Wednesday. The adjoining one and half story property was also damaged by smoke.  Fire crews from Stornoway and Ness donned breathing sets to get closer to the flames. They deployed a heat seeking camera to ensure the fire would not flare up again.
