Ferry disruptions 29/12/12
A lull in the weather has allowed ferries to make sailings today (Sat). However,
some crossings continue to be disrupted.
The first two morning sailings across the Sound of Barra were cancelled. The 11.10am
from Barra and 1pm from Eriskay run will be carried out. It is uncertain if the MV
Alainn will undertake the last two sailings on the timetable. Conditions will be
reviewed at 2pm.
The MV Isle of Lewis sailed from Ullapool at 10.25pm after being storm bound there
since yesterday morning. Weather permitting she will depart Stornoway at 2.30pm.
The Sound of Harris service was delayed by a hour this morning due to adverse weather.
The MV Clansman will sail to Lochboisdale and Castlebay on Sunday. The run was cancelled
yesterday.
Another gale is forecast for the west coast tonight.
