Ferries cancelled as east wind blows 21/1/13
Strong easterly winds has affected ferry sailings to the Western Isles.
Tonight’s MV Finlaggan return sailings for Lochmaddy are cancelled and the Tarbert
timetable was also disrupted.
The morning run from North Uist has also been put off. The adverse weather has resulted
in an amended timetable for Tuesday. The ferry will divert to Lochmaddy instead of
heading back to Skye on her morning schedule for Harris tomorrow morning.
The strength and direction of the wind hampered the MV Isle of Lewis docking at Stornoway
this lunchtime. The vessel did not venture out in the afternoon. The freight ferry
Muirneag is cancelled for the same reason.
