Ferry cancellations                            17/1/13

Heavy weather has forced the cancellation of some island ferries.

Today’s and Friday’s sailings of the MV Clansman to Castlebay and Lochboisdale are off due to a heavy swell and south easterly winds gusting to 49 knots.

The next scheduled sailing on this route is on Sunday at 3pm from Oban.

The Sound of Barra ferry was cancelled this afternoon while high winds also means the Stornoway freight vessel remains in harbour tonight.

The MV Finlaggan risks being disrupted on her sailings between Skye, Tarbert and Lochmaddy on Friday.
