Ferry cancelled 13/9/11
This morning’s Castlebay to Oban ferry has been cancelled due to rough seas and high winds on the west coast. The 1.40pm sailing out of Oban also risks disruption.
The bad weather south of Barra is caused by the tail end of hurricane Katina passing over Scotland.
It created strong gales across the central belt but had no particular effect on the Western Isles apart from a band of rain as it moves away. The wind will rise tonight and continue breezy until around lunchtime Wednesday.
