Different manners of worship           23/11/11

Sir,

I write with anger to challenge the letter of Pastor Keith Baker's opinions regarding the intended ecumenical service at Martin's Memorial Church celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.

In this day and age of ever increasing secular indifference and apathy towards Christian values and the threat to our belief from fundamental sects of other religions is not a service of simple Christian unity a good thing?

It is a celebration of the birth of Christ not the birth of Luther, or Pope whatever or saint what ever or John Wesley or any form of idolatry. It is the birth of Jesus; whose sojourn on earth and later death being one of the principle tenets of Christian faith.

We all worship God and Christ just prefer to do it in differing manners which, whilst differing, should be respected within that same Christian faith.

Pastor - a person exercising spiritual guidance

Sectarian - bigoted or narrow minded in following the doctrines of one's sect

Well Mr Baker where is the line between the two? And be very careful, a not too particularly religious Scottish Government is passing laws intended to temper hatred such as yours.
