Criticism of ecumenical service                    21/11/11

Sirs,

We understand that there is to be an ecumenical Christmas service held at Martin’s Memorial Church on the 3rd December, which will be televised by BBC ALBA on Christmas Eve.

Ministers from the Church of Scotland, the Free Church of Scotland and the Roman Catholic Church are to participate.

Is this then to inform the Scottish public that the “Disruption” was a silly disagreement with the Moderates that should never have got out of hand, and that the “Protestant Reformation” was a gigantic mistake to be repented of now!

Surely Chalmers and Knox are turning in their graves? Are there any ministers of island churches that will raise their voices and say that they are shocked that this is happening?

Have congregations here been taught anything of the evil and disobedience of ecumenism or does nobody care anymore?
