Curfew for Lewis man            3/9/11

Stornoway A 23-year-old Lewis Stornoway man has been placed on a six month weekend curfew after assaulting a female police officer on 16th July.

Danile Macrury of The Old House, 4 Lewis Street,  Stornoway, previously admitted the offences at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

He pleaded guilty to attacking the constable and attempting to head but her.

The court heard he also committed a breach of the peace by shouting, swearing, running onto the paths to oncoming vehicles  driving along Macaulay Road in Stornoway. The traffic had to swerve around him to avoid hitting him.

Macrury also lay down in the roadway and also utter threats of violence.

He must undertake 120 hours of unpaid work under a community payback order which includes one year’s supervision and a 12 month alcohol treatment requirement. He was placed on a curfew between 10pm and 6am on Friday and Saturdays
