I am better known as Cudaig and I am standing as an independent candidate in Sgir’ Uige agus Ceann a Tuath nan Loch.

I was born and raised in Callanish and live there with my wife Sheena.

I am standing in the hope of representing the community where I was born and brought up.

I have been deeply involved in crofting all my life. In 2010 I retired from CNES after working there for 32 years. I have also served as an auxiliary coastguard for 26 years.

If elected I will endeavour to serve the ward to the best of my ability. I believe we should protect community values to bring back the previous vibrant communities and retain amenities.

By standing as an independent candidate I am outside of party politics and believe that politics should be kept out of local government in the islands

The comhairle should strive to look at every opportunity to create jobs and therefore sustain the population on the island.

This includes taking over the seabed from the Crown Estate Commission, giving more opportunity for development, relaxing planning laws and removing red tape, getting involved in small-scale energy projects and other renewable schemes, not just wind turbines.

I value your support and the opportunity to be able to serve you and to resolve any issues you may have.

If you require assistance on election day please call 621 437.
