  • Young Lewis band Oidhche Chiadain are launching their debut CD at the Mod tonight (wed) in the Sea Angling Club, Stornoway.  All the musicians have come through the Feis movement and will be performing a number of  traditional tunes at the 8pm launch. Entry to the event and the dance which follows is free.

 

  • Highly successful Gaelic band Niteworks is performing at Fortrose Lodge in Stornoway on Friday night. There will also be an opportunity to see the premiere of the band’s new Gaelic video, produced in collaboration with pupils from the Nicolson Institute.

 

  • A new interactive website aims to provide a one-stop-shop for people interested in learning Gaelic. LearnGaelic.net presents enhanced Gaelic learning resources in a single online portal where, through time, learners of all ages and abilities can source the help they require when learning the language.

 

  • Bòrd na Gàidhlig is launching a major campaign to promote Gaelic-medium education and learning this November in order to meet the aspiration in the new National Gaelic Language Plan of doubling the number of children enrolling in P1 GME from 400 to over 800 pupils.  ­­­­­­­
