Broke court ban                    11/12/11

A man was given two days grace to get off the island before a court tagging order was imposed.

At Stornoway Sheriff Court this week, Mark Stephenson of 52 Hillfoot, Renton, West Dunbartonshire, admitted breaking a court order banning him from going near his ex-partner’s island home until May.

The ban was imposed only two weeks ago after the 28-year-old admitted creating a disturbance at the address.

The court heard Stephenson now intended to relocate to his West Dunbartonshire address and would carry out his community payback order sentence of 120 hours of unpaid work there. He must also keep away from his ex-partner’s island address until May.

A community payback order was delayed to give him the chance to fond money for his ferry fare to the mainland.
