“Childish” council 4/3/13
Sir,
So Western Isles Council have removed the petition for the reinstatement of the air services from the school in Benbecula because it is "inappropriate" and not "in line" with council policy.
How pathetic and childish.
Echoes of Big Brother -
For a group of councillors from Uist with no regard of the consequences of how their vote would affect so many of the constituents that actually voted them in, I would be minded to think they will now have no confidence in them not a moment longer, and should vote them out, as indeed they should do to the whole lot of them.
This council went against their own planning officers in their decision to grant
approval of wind turbines within sight of the Callanish Stones, a decision overturned
by the Scottish Government. They took no heed of the EIS when setting out their stall,
paving the way for e-
Something wrong somewhere along the line there and there may now be the prospect of a teachers’ strike.
They talk about being democratically elected, yes, they were but here endeth the democratic process, once elected, they go on to doing their own thing. Those who voted them in are now a distant memory.
MPAngus Macneill had stated the Comhairle had a “moral obligation” to keep the plane service going. Well, I don't think he is going to get much change in a place where morals don't exist.
What exists is a culture of yes sir, no sir, whatever you say, sir -
