Care worker stole £1000 11/12/11
A home help who stole over £1,000 from an elderly man has been sentenced to undertake 240 hours of unpaid community work at Stornoway Sheriff Court this week
Donna Ann Mackay, 35, of 19B Garrabost, Lewis, previously admitted staging the theft by opening credit accounts with mail order catalogues in the name of the pensioner she was assigned to look after in her role as a council social care worker.
She ordered goods to the value of £1,136 in his name but kept them for her own use.
