Back clinch league championship         7/9/11

Back has won the Lewis and Harris League after drawing with their nearest rivals. The 2-2 result catapults the Bacaich beyond reach on points with the last league matches of the season being played this weekend.

Back may have been crowing at the end of the decider clash at Cnoc a' Choilich on Monday night but they had made no progress during the scoreless first half.

In contrast, the dramatic last half hour awarded spectators an exciting tense finish with Back stalwart Kevin Bloxy Murray clocking up the lead quickly followed by a second goal from Fraser Macleod.

The home side rallied back in vain with two goals in rapid succession. But Carloway ran out of time in the thrilling dying minutes of the game.

Back FC also won the Lewis Cup with a 2-1 score after extra time against Lochs  on Friday.
