B&Bs urged to watch out for scam guests 22/7/11
Guest house and B&B operators are urged to be vigilant at this busy time of year after a fraud allegedly took place in Skye.
Police are investigating after a suspected couple stayed at a B&B in Portree.
They are believed to be of Mediterranean complexion, Italian accents, dark hair and eyes, poor English.
The woman is believed to be about 5ft to 5ft 2in, with long tied back hair. The man is believed to be about 5ft 10in and clean shaven with short dark hair.
Both are described as very well dressed and to be in what looks like a small white, 11 plate vehicle possibly a Nissan Micra.
Police advise proprietors of B&Bs that details be noted of all guests as well as the registration numbers of any vehicles they may be using.
