Lewis sportswoman Pam Macsween has won an athletics award in recognition of her work in  coaching  island athletes and encouraging more people to participate in the sport locally.

Mrs Macsween, from Ness, was presented with the top Participation Coach of the Year award by the Scottish Athletics association in a ceremony held in the Marriott Hotel in Glasgow.

She was nominated by the Stornoway Running and Athletics Club where she is a coach.  Pam is a qualified long jump and sprint coach and is enthusiastically involved in encouraging her charges in developing their performance.
