An island youth who breached a sexual harm restriction order will be sentenced next month.

Michael Mason who was banned from going near any child under 16 years stood outside the entrance to the toilets in the Stornoway Co-op and asked a young girl to approach him. The incident occurred on Thursday.

The 20-year-old also admitted a breach of bail when he appeared from custody at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

In addition, Mason faces sentencing on two other matters.

Sheriff David Sutherland called for a psychiatric report and deferred sentence for four weeks.

Mason was released on bail to an address on Lewis on the strict condition he is supervised.

He is to attend a bail hearing to change address at the court on Friday.
