World's Biggest Coffee Morning 25/9/14
A number of island businesses, schools and workplaces plan to participate in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday.
Many islanders are amongst the 1106 people across the Highlands and Islands who have registered to hold an event to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
They will join thousands of people across the country by inviting people to donate for a cup of coffee or tea and cake .
The national event is not only Macmillan’s flagship fundraiser but it’s still the original charity coffee morning.
Baking has been in full swing in kitchens across the islands.
Local coffee morning hostess, Lorraine Matheson is one of many who has been making hundreds of cakes all week for an open house to the public on Friday.
Caramel shortbread, peppermint slices, scones, cup cakes and mango loaf are on the menu for her event at 5 Cearn Sheilidh in Stornoway from 10am to 7pm.
