Blustery winds are set to affect the islands until Christmas Eve.
Gusts between 30 to 40mph can be expected along with squally showers and rough seas
Westerly winds may reach Force 8, over 39 mph particularly around in Barra and South Uist.
There is the chance of thundery conditions on Tuesday.
Christmas day is likely to see calm weather with cold, clear spells. A touch of frost may cover the ground in the morning as a high pressure system passes south over Scotland.
The only sign of a white Christmas may be wintry showers or sleet in places.
A Force 8 gale is expected in Uist and Barra at the weekend.
