Sir,

I sure hope this subsea cable and electricity converter station never see the light of day.

As the council's economic development chiefs highlight the "unprecedented" potential socioeconomic benefits, they fail to mention the "unprecedented” ruin of the Lewis landscape. The turbines on the (associated) proposed giant windfarm have already been altered to increase the height to near a staggering 500 feet. That will hardly blend in with the landscape, will it?

Those at Sandwick Road must remember that these islands also belong to the the residents, and not just a handful of councillors and business people.

Get the go ahead for this, and you will destroy this island landscape and way of life for ever. Would that really bother you, or is money more important ?
