Fire crews have been tackling a large wildfire on Lewis.

A blaze on the Ranish moor in South Lochs has broken out again.

Flames whipped up by a brisk breeze caused damage over 133 acres.

Emergency services initially attended the fire at An Ard 6pm on Monday

The fire spread over a two-and-a-half mile wide front with smoke billowing across the sky for a long distance.

The blaze was brought under control later and five firefighters monitored the situation overnight.

Fire crews from Stornoway and Shawbost returned to fight the flames in blustery conditions this morning.
