Hebrides News

More bad weather is set to sweep across the Western Isles in the coming days.

Wet and very blustery conditions are expected with gale force winds continuing for the first half of Monday and again on Tuesday.

More strong winds are forecast towards the end of the week.

The Met Office said: “Another area of low pressure is expected to move east close to the north of Scotland during Monday, bringing an increase in the winds to many northern parts of the UK during Monday morning.

“After a lull during the afternoon, further strong and gusty southwesterly winds will return to similar areas later on Monday evening.”

Over the week “the unsettled spell of bad weather looks set to continue with further bands of wet and windy weather moving in from the Atlantic.”

Meanwhile, very high waves are expected west of the Outer Hebrides.

A severe weather warning has been issued for other parts of Scotland though conditions there are not expected to be as bad as the Western Isles.
