The Western Isles won a further four medals at the international Island Games in Jersey on Thursday.

 

Kathryn Offer of Ness, Lewis, clinched gold and broke the Island Games record for the women's 50 metre backstroke with a time of 28:79.

 

In the men’s 400 metres, Donnie Macleod was awarded a bronze medal.

 

Clocking up her fourth medal at the biennial competitions was Stornoway swimmer Kara Hanlon who came in second in the 100 metres backstroke final.

 

Multi-discipline athletic, Eve Carrington, claimed bronze after moving ahead into third place in the last stretch of the 400 metre hurdles. She won her second medal of the games after being placed third in the shot putt on Wednesday.
