Councillors’ expenses are revealed 3/6/11
The annual salaries and expenses paid to Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s councillors during 2010/11 have been published.
The figures, which are published each year have been placed on the Comhairle’s website and are on display at Comhairle Offices.
Ordinary councillors get expenses on top of an yearly £16,234 salary.
Councillors who are heads of committees get nearly £2000 more.
Convenor Alex Macdonald received a £20,294 pay packet and also got expenses of nearly £10,000.
Council leader Angus Campbell received £39,778 which includes a £27,000 salary.
Councillors’ expenses for 2010/11 dropped by approximately 4% compared to last year, by £26,697.77.
