A man accused of carrying out a serious assault has appeared in court.

 

Brian McEwan, of Pollok in Glasgow, made no plea or declaration when his case called in private at Stornoway Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

 

The 32-year-old faces a charge of allegedly severely assaulting another male on Sunday morning in the Point Street area of Stornoway town centre.

 

Sheriff David Sutherland granted bail and the case was continued for further examination.
