£1 million for community regeneration project 3/4/14
West Harris Trust has been awarded £1,090,247 from the Big Lottery Fund for a community
enterprise centre at Horgabost..
As a hub for the community it will provide a hall, cafe and treatment room, as well
as a marquee on an outdoor deck, three campervan stances, community polytunnels and
a children’s play area.
The centre will create new jobs, host events and provide services for the local community.
West Harris Trust Chairman, Murdo Mackay, welcomed the news: “This is a major milestone
in the trust’s work and the project will play a key role in retaining and attracting
new people and businesses to live and work in West Harris.”
