Weekend gales for Western Isles 24/10/14
High winds are set to affect the Western Isles over the weekend.
Friday will start bright with a mixture of sunny intervals and occasional but heavy showers.
Strong southwest winds are expected to rise to a force seven gale in the afternoon and perhaps force eight by night.
Saturday is predicted to see a severe gale hitting Uist and Barra with violent gusts, perhaps nearly 70 mph, continuing into early Sunday.
