Hebrides News

A deep area of low pressure will bring gales and unsettled conditions to the Western Isles and west coast.

The centre of the low will drift slowly over Ireland. For the islands, it means a strong easterly airflow up to the middle of the week.

A force eight gale into early Monday is forecast to ease in the afternoon.

Winds will be stronger across Lewis and Harris.

It will feel cold in the blustery conditions with some light rain later on Monday.

Long dry and brighter spells are expected as the low moves towards mainland Europe, creating a slack pressure pattern across the Western Isles.

A new Atlantic depression approaching Scotland is forecast to bring strengthening winds on Wednesday.
